The Village of Saranac Lake issued a Partial Boil Water Order on May 20, 2026 affecting residents and businesses on Bloomingdale Avenue from Broadway to Church Street, and the entire length of Depot Street. The order remains in effect as of Friday morning.

The order was issued under Section 1107 of the New York State Public Health Law and applies to Saranac Lake Village Public Water System PWS 1600011. The cause is a water main break.

What You Need to Do

If your address is on Bloomingdale Avenue between Broadway and Church Street, or anywhere on Depot Street, you must boil all water used for drinking, making ice, preparing food, brushing teeth, or any other culinary purpose before use.

Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it. Let it cool before drinking. Bottled water is a safe alternative.
