Memorial Day 2026 in the Tri-Lakes: Parades, Ceremonies, and Where to Go

Memorial Day is Monday, May 26. Communities across the Tri-Lakes have planned ceremonies, parades, and events to mark the holiday. Here is what is happening and when.

Saranac Lake — Sunday, May 25

The Saranac Lake Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony takes place on Sunday, May 25. The parade steps off at 10:45am from the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and ends at Riverside Park with a ceremony. Participating groups include the Saranac Lake High School band, the Saranac Lake Fire Department, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and various civic and veterans organizations. A barbecue and refreshments will be served at the VMA after the ceremony. All are welcome.

Lake Placid — Monday, May 26

Ceremonies begin at 10am with a flag honoring Frederick Reid lowered and a flag honoring Ruben Lennart Folin raised at Adirondack Health Lake Placid. At 10:10am, a flag ceremony is held at North Elba Cemetery. At 11am, the Memorial Day Parade begins at the intersection of Main Street and Saranac Avenue and proceeds to the American Legion home at 2710 Main St. The parade features the Lake Placid High School Marching Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Homeward Bound Veterans, and other community organizations. A closing ceremony follows at the Legion home.

Tupper Lake — Monday, May 26

A ceremony is scheduled for 11am at Veterans Memorial Park on Park Street, hosted by the Marine Corps League. The Tupper Lake Middle-High School band and Honor Guard will perform. A barbecue follows at the Veterans’ Club. All are welcome.
